Whistleblowing

Charter’s Whistleblowing policy states that employees have a right, indeed a responsibility, to report any concerns they may have concerning actual, suspected or planned wrongdoings involving a Charter company or any of its directors, officers or employees. They may do so in the knowledge that the Board of Directors of Charter International plc will ensure that the act of raising such concerns will not lead to any recrimination, punishment or victimisation.

Any concern should be raised with the employee’s immediate superior but if this does not resolve the matter, or it is not deemed appropriate, they may be made direct to ESAB or Howden or Charter. Contact details are provided for Charter’s CEO and Legal Director. Any concern not resolved by the immediate superior will be communicated to the Head of Internal Audit and investigations undertaken to identify relevant facts. The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for ensuring that the Audit Committee is kept updated on disclosures, subsequent investigations and follow up actions.
